iPRD researchers join £10 million programme to advance nanomedicine

Date

Researchers at iPRD are part of a £10 million national programme to accelerate nanomedicine technologies into clinical use.

Led by King's College London, the initiative will investigate how nanomaterials behave inside the human body. Researchers will use advanced imaging techniques to track treatments in real time and improve their effectiveness.

iPRD researchers will receive around £2 million over five years. Professor Tom Chamberlain's team will develop scalable methods to manufacture nanomedicines for clinical trials. Professor Nicole Hondow will help analyse the materials, ensuring they are consistent, safe and effective.

The project will support advances in drug delivery, cancer treatment, image-guided surgery and combination therapies. The researchers aim to speed up the development of new healthcare technologies and improve patient outcomes.
